In Loving Memory of John Curtis BEM who will be very sadly missed by us both. John worked tirelessly for others in his life, and for nearly 40 years remembered those who lost their lives in the "Raid on Dieppe" 19th August 1942 by holding a Service at the graveside of Leading Seaman Sparks, a local boy who was lost in this action. Sleep well John we will always remember you. Brian and Del Sandom

John Curtis BEM. John has been a very great friend for a good number of years. He has spent his life thinking of others, and I will miss him more than anything I could say. He richly earned the BEM and in my view should have been awarded more. For over 30 years John remembered the 1942 "Raid on Dieppe" by holding a small servive at the graveside of Leading Seaman Stan Sparks a local boy who lost his life in the raid on 19th august 1942.
