In loving memory of Colin James Sage who sadly passed away on 5th November 2023

Dearest Colin we have loving memories of you,

Colin James Sage was born on February 9th, 1993, in Chatham to Steven and Karen Sage. He had an older brother Michael, born in 1989, and an older sister, Lisa born in 1992. At school Colin was popular and was keen on karate. He supported Arsenal. His brother Michael was keen on the military, and Lisa began her lifelong love of horses. In the last few weeks of his life, Colin helped Lisa with Eddy, her pony, and Michael and Colin enjoyed watching military films. In August of this year, Colin moved back to be with his Mum Karen in Hythe, to try, as he often said, to sort himself out, but despair and doubts were in his mind and he tragically took his own life, at the young age of 30, on November 5th.

Colin loved walking and stargazing. While staying at his Mum’s, he regularly walked on Dymchurch and Hythe beaches, enjoying the sea and stars at night. Karen enjoyed Colin being with her as he did lots of jobs around the house, cooked, watched films with her and Lisa, and played puzzles. Lisa and Colin competed on the PlayStation. Colin and Karen walked the dogs daily. He was settling in Hythe and meeting people. Colin loved cats and a few days before he died, he rescued a bedraggled moggy.

Colin, we see you every day and we are smiling back at you. Take care.

After Colin's committal on Dec. 6th at Hawkinge, we will celebrate him again, when we lay his ashes on the Dymchurch beach and tide, and where we will toast his memory.

love Karen, Lisa and Michael

*Colin loved the COLOUR PURPLE, and we hope people who attend his funeral wear a little - or a lot!

I know you wasn’t given the opportunity to say your last goodbyes but his watching over you, the girls and the rest of his family and friends. Take comfort in that. Sleep tight Colin. X

Karen's beloved baby boy Colin was lost to us all on November the 5th. Colin was such a beautiful boy. I once stood with him in his garden in Ashford when he was a teenager. We had the most wonderful conversation. I was so struck by his beauty. He truly was incredibly handsome and the sweetest boy ever - and the best thing is - in that conversation I told him how beautiful and bright and how wonderful he was. So now, I wish to honor him by quoting from the famous hymn "All Things Bright and Beautiful" which Mum and Theresa loved so much and I as a child loved to sing. I especially liked the second verse "The purple headed mountain, the river running by, the sunrise in the morning, that brightens up the sky."

Darling Colin, I hope you are now near the purple headed mountain with the river running by and I hope you know that we who are here today to honor your life all love you so much. Colin, you will never be forgotten. I am lighting a purple candle for you today and have sent purple flowers to celebrate your young life. And on the 9th of February every year I will light a purple candle to celebrate your birthday But guess what Colin! Your light will never go out! It is within all of us in your family. Love you so much!

Lovingly,
Your Aunt Anne

I have known Colin, Lisa and Michael since the day they moved in 2 doors down. Myself and my siblings was all friends with them all. Me being in same year and Michael, my brother same year as Lisa and Colin was the same year as my sister. We used to all play, argue and wind up our neighbour hood playing 40 40 it or what's the time Mr wolf. We had a park by our houses we played in, 3 massive fields to run around and little streams we jumped. We all used to walk to schools together and play outside until we had to go in. Plenty of sleep overs at each others houses and doing our mums heads in. Unfortunately lost touch with them all when they moved away until one day Colin was in my doorstep around 6 years ago with my brother and that 4ft nothing little Colin was now towering over me at 6ft!! He was as funny as I remember and it was really lovely to see him and catch up after so long. Colin was always the joker of the group and a dare devil so many memories to put into words but will never forget them. Rest in peace little Colin such a young soul taken to early from this earth. My love goes to Karen, Lisa and Michael xx
