In loving memory of Dawn Smith, who sadly passed away on 31st October 2023. Immediate family flowers only please. However, if you would like to make a donation to Versus Arthritis in mum's memory, we have set up a link on this page.

Please feel free to wear colour if you would like to. Mum always appreciated a smashing top.

Dawn was the youngest child of Frederick and Agnes Taylor and little sister to Charles, Roy and Peggy. Born in Reigate in 1942, where she lived all her life. She met Brian at the BBC, when they both worked in the technical drawing office. They were married in 1965 and had 2 children Geoffrey born in 1968 and Catherine in 1970. Dawn also had four grand-children that she adored: Nathan, Lauren, Louisa and Nicholas.

Dawn was always busy and always put others before herself. Such a thoughtful person, she enjoyed looking after family, painting, sewing, dancing and reading.

She sadly suffered three falls this year, the last of which, was in hospital two weeks ago and resulted in a stroke from which she couldn’t recover. She passed away peacefully, with family at her side.

Dawn was much loved by her family and friends, a very special lady, who will be sadly missed every day.

With love,
Brian, Geoffrey, Catherine and family

Sue, Paul and Chloe Brown donated in memory of Dawn

Our condolences to all the family.

Auntie, you will be sorely missed. You have been a large part of our lives. From staying at yours when a young teenager, to going out for days, looking after the children, and then you looking after my girls. Cream cakes at the garden centres, never being able to refuse! lol. So many laughs. Such a wonderful person. Enjoy your time with mum and Nan xxx

Our get-togethers were all too rare but we have lovely memories of a lovely lady. Dawn never seemed to change, she was always the lovely, smiling girl we saw at her and Brian's wedding all those years ago. Rest in peace.
