Michael Carnell (Passed away 11 Oct 2023)

In loving memory of Michael Carnell who sadly passed away on 11th October 2023.
Michael was a much loved father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and husband.
A Matlock man to the tips of his toes, even though he lived in Southampton for the last 50 years, he was the youngest of four brothers, all mad about cars!
He began his career as a Mechanical Engineer in the Royal Navy. During this time his daughter Lorraine was born.
After he left the Navy he worked in a variety of jobs.
When he and Ann married in 1975 they decided that they would like to foster and Mike stayed at home as a foster father. Eventually Zoe was born and Melanie and Andrea became his own daughters.
He had poor health in his later life but continued to love fixing cars and watching cricket.
He was funny, witty , with a dry sense of humour and sometimes a mischievous joker. Sometimes a bit grumpy but much loved by all the family who he loved too.
A kind , supportive, quiet but caring husband,. Always ready to listen and give a hug when it was needed.
