In loving memory of Geoffrey Arnold who sadly passed away on 31st July 2023. He was a loving husband married to Gwen for 74 years. A great dad to Pam and a wonderful grandad to Mikey and Lydia and great grandad to Sienna, Molly, Emerson and Maisie. He was born on the 6th June 1927 in Earlestown to Mary and Joseph Arnold. He had three sisters and two brothers. He saw the Hindenberg air ship fly over him home and ran beneath it for quite a while and loved to tell people the story. He watched American bomber planes fly into and out of Burtonwood American airbase during the war.
He had many tales to tell about his courting days with Gwen, including the night they came off his motorbike. He told the tale of when he and Gwen cycled through the Mersey tunnel in a tandem.
He was a staunch Manchester City fan going to his first match with his brother when he was young. He enjoyed a friendly squabble with Mikey particularly when they played Liverpool.
He travelled to many places including, America, Canada, Croatia and Spain to name a few. He was a loving dad and grandad and loved to spend time with his family. In later life he was involved with their local community club and was one of the stewards calling bingo and pulling pints behind the bar.
He was a real gentleman and would do anything for anyone.
He will be missed terribly and his little songs and ditties will also be missed. He has made an impact on everyone who knew him. RIP we will miss you.

Love you forever dad. You are a huge loss to me and our family. I have been blessed to have you as my dad as you were wonderful, so generous and kind. So many times of fun and laughter. It has been amazing to have had holidays with you in recent years. I am just so sorry we couldn’t have had longer with you, but I know your last few weeks were such a struggle especially with your breathing and mobility as well as losing mum, your long term love. RIP, night night and love you LOADS xxx heartbroken 💔
