Valerie Ann Brady (17 Feb 1938 - 16 Aug 2023)

In loving memory of Valerie Ann Brady who sadly passed away on 16th August 2023. Val, daughter of Mavis and Len and sister to Marilyn, Brian and Michael. She grew up in Forest Town and met Robert (Bob) at a regular weekly dance they both attended. They were married for 64 years and went on to have 4 children; Catherine, Richard, Alison and Rachel, 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Val was never happier than when looking after babies so a big family made her very happy! She worked through most of her life in various shops and started out in Woolworths, she also worked at the Co-op, Mothercare and then local bakeries in Warsop and Mansfield. After retirement Val did a lot of travelling and enjoyed holidays in Spain, France, Italy, Morocco, Bulgaria and then spending extended time with family in Belgium and USA. She was a whiz on her iPad and was able to order her weekly Sainsbury’s shop online, and do online banking. Her and Bob enjoyed quizzes and crosswords and she would do Wordle every day and then send her children a text bragging about her score! She loved making jam, baking and knitting amongst other things and will be missed by all her knew her.
Her funeral will be held at St Teresa’s RC Warsop on Thursday 7th September at 1.00pm, followed by a service at Mansfield Crematorium at 3pm and light refreshments at the Oakham Suite, Nottingham Road, Mansfield
