In loving memory of Susan (Sue/Cheyni) who sadly passed away peacefully at home in Minehead surrounded by her beloved dogs Darcy and Lexi, and her cat Crystal, on Friday 7th July 2023 aged 73 following a long battle with cancer which she fought bravely for over 8 years.

Sue will be greatly missed by her Daughter Zari, Son-in-Law Wayne, Granddaughters Jade and Mia, Sister Vicki and all of her family, animals and friends.

Sue worked hard in Minehead and surrounding area in various roles over the years before she retired, most recently in the clothes shop that is now the new Minehead Cinema but she also worked in Greetings Plus, Raleigh’s Cross Inn, Woolworths, WH Smiths, Hedley Price, to name but a few and was a Shop Assistant, Cleaner, Waitress, Window Dresser and used to work in a stables on North Hill, escorting Pony rides on North Hill and on the beach (which she loved).

She was never happier than when she was spending time with her animals and loved walking her dogs on North Hill, Culvercliffe and Minehead Beach which she managed to do right up until a few weeks before she passed away.

Sue wished to be laid to rest in woodland due to her love of nature and didn’t want to have a religious service. There will be a Private Burial for close family taking place on Saturday 29th July 2023 at 12.30pm, followed by a Celebration of Sue’s life to be held at The Britannia Inn, 1 Manor Road, Alcombe, Minehead TA24 6EH, from 1.30pm on Saturday 29th July 2023 to which the family would like to invite all of Sue’s friends and family to share their memories, say goodbye and raise a glass or two.

Instead of flowers, her family would really appreciate donations to Love Musgrove (for the Beacon Centre), or Cancer Research UK. Special thanks from the family go to all those involved in Susan’s care over recent years for their understanding, care and dedication.

Sue’s family welcomes you to write your own memories and tributes using the “write a message” button below or post any photos you have of Sue (who hated having her photo taken, so if you managed to get one please do share!).

Thank you to everyone for all your kind words and support given to Sue’s family at this sad time.
