John was always such a loving Uncle to me always wanting to know how I’m getting on especially with football which was my main passion as a kid. We used to visit fairly regularly for BBQs and meetups at Centreparcs and he was always so welcoming to me like I was his own son.

Aside from his love John was always a top bloke and will always go down as a legend in my books. A very comedic guy and always up for a laugh at all times.

Such a shame to be taken far too soon and although I never got to see him in recent times I’m sure he went down with a right fight as he was one of the strongest man I knew.

Hopefully you’re looking down on Australia too and I can do you proud.

Xx

A few words to remember my old mate Johnny who over the years gave us many a memorable story, plenty of roasts, a few barbecues and plenty of Carlings!

An absolutely top man who has bought an amazing nephew and niece into our lives and has given them and Nicola lots of amazing times while they were together.

He will be sorely missed and was taken from
Nicola and the kids far to early!

We will always be there for them no matter what hurdles await them John so rest in peace and I hope there’s a good Coors brewery up there mate!!

Always and forever.

Mark.

I still remember the first day I met you, taking me to the shop and you telling me how I held your hand. From that day forward you were a prominent, loyal and loving uncle to me, and I still can’t really believe you’ve gone.

Through my years in school I recall the trips you took me on to the base to go to the fire station, teaching me to swim and exposing me at an early age to Snoop Dogg! I also once recall how blasé you were when you came in to extinguish a grill pan fire that Nicola May or may not have caused!

I remember that you were there for me when I struggled with bullies, showing me how to stand up for myself. No problem I ever shared with you was too big or too small, and you always made time, no matter what. That meant so much more to me than you’d ever know.

You were always a fighter, and my goodness did you fight until the very last day. You were taken from us way too soon. The joy you brought, the love and the loyalty you gave, and the time you had for everyone; they will never, ever be forgotten; you will never, ever be forgotten. Rest up, uncle John xxxxx

  • Beautiful sentiments. I remember he was proud as punch telling everyone, the huge box of chocolates you sent him was from his nephew ❤️
