In loving memory of Michael Edward Wharton who sadly passed away on 6th June 2023 - peacefully in his sleep at home with Marion by his side.
Michael was born on 10th May 1934 - the only child of Eddie and Ena Wharton. Michael was born in Hampton before the family moved back to Southampton where Michael developed his love of the sea and ships.
Michael’s love of the sea saw him also work at Cunard where he met Marion. Michael & Marion married on 25th June 1960. They went on to have four children: Kevin, Neil, Mark and Sharon.
Michael and Marion watched as their family grew to include their much loved daughters- in-law: Denise, Susan and Fiona & son-in-law Gary.
They also became the proud grandparents of eight grandchildren: Emily, Joshua, Ben, James, Sophie, Toby, Abbie & Evie.
Michael will be missed greatly by all his family and many friends. A kind and loving husband, dad, grandad and cousin. A true gentleman and loyal friend.
