Having known David since 1993, I can recall many funny moments. And whilst he is on his next journey I wanted to share one of my favourite moments. Having lunch together I used to drive him mad winding him up about eating nothing but cheese and crackers, however one day he whispered to me that he had the hots for some beautiful girl with curly dark hair . He begged me not to look up or make it obvious as he was always quite private.

Me being me, I stood up, pointed and shouted “What? Beckie in production” (I think that was the department).

Before I sat down he had his heavily gelled head in his hands giving me his signature glare. Anyway time went on , and after his many reasons to go down and see her he said to me that he wasn’t sure how to ask her on a date. Yet again, me being me I said “ This is how you do it”. I picked up the phone and said “Beckie hi, David wants to ask you something”. From that day he arranged a date but vowed never to tell me anything again. However, I am pleased that from that moment in life, they went on to spend many, many years of happiness together creating a lovely family.

David I know our lives took different paths but you were and will always be in my heart ❤️. Love you mate seriously, and thank you for many funny memories (many of which I will not post, promise 😂. Xxxx

Rebecca, i remember you both giving me some tickets for my son to go to Wembley to watch a special game. Both of your generosity is still as clear now as it was then. To Rebecca and Zachary, I’m so sorry for your loss. Thank you for having us all at the funeral. It was a beautiful and fitting farewell.

To DG, The DJ, the Twitch streamer, the DIY mechanic, the fisherman, the dancer, the father-figure, the leader, and on and on. You contained multitudes. Thank you for making the last eight years fun. Thanks for seeing through all of the nonsense and making sense of it. Thanks for putting people and family first, and expecting us to do the same — I’ll always remember the kindness you showed me when my dad was sick. Thanks for always guaranteeing the biggest party of the year – good year or bad – and without fail, being the last man standing (not that I was ever there late enough to see it). Rest well DG. I’ll miss you a lot. RLG x

DG, I don’t know what to say. The word legend is used far too often, but you really was one. Kind, thoughtful, funny, and generous to a fault. You drove me mad on many an occasion but also brought so much fun and laughter. Most of my best memories from my twenties involve you. It was a privilege to be your PA and I’ll never forget you. Rest in peace and don’t get into too much trouble wherever you are. Sending love and strength to Rebecca and Zach xx

What to say? A complete and utter shock to hear of your passing - way too early Dave. Have some great memories, especially the many conferences and events. You always looked after us making sure we were safe, got cabs etc, a real gent.
They do say only the good die young. Sending love and healing to all the family and friends left behind to deal with the loss. Hoping one day they can push through the pain and remember you with a smile 💔

DG, you were an incredible leader and have the highest emotional intelligence I've ever known. It's been 6 months since you've been on the 8th floor, supporting, inspiring and of course keeping us on our toes! Our team feels empty without you, I'll miss plotting summer socials or ascot with you and the surprise check in calls.
You helped me achieve a great deal at Amazon Ads and I am so inspired by hearing the story of your life yesterday at your funeral. DG was special and I will endeavor to honour his love of life, determination to succeed and lastly ensure UK always beats DE!

May you rest in peace,

Rayna

I cannot express enough how deeply grateful I am for the impact you've made on my life. Your empathy, grace, and belief in me have truly shaped my personal and professional growth.

You've always treated me as a member of the team, and your spirit brought life to every gathering. Our last lunch together, rich with laughter and invaluable advice, is a memory I'll forever cherish.

Your mentorship has not only taught me, but it's also inspired me. I'll carry your teachings with me, striving to see potential in others as you did in me, and to lead with both empathy and grace.

Thank you, DG, for everything. You are more than a mentor; you're an inspiration.

RIP

There are not enough words to describe how much DG impacted my life. He was a boss, a mentor, a fiercely loyal leader and a dear, dear friend. I will miss and think of him daily.
Rebecca and Zach, I know we never met but I felt like I knew you both. He spoke about you two so often and with so much love. The car he bought to fix up with you Zach, brought him so much joy. The honesty he shared in how much he missed you once you moved out and the secret joy he had when the pandemic brought you back home for stints. He taught me to slow down, cherish my time with my tiring young kids and know it moves fast.

I have never met a person which such a wide spread impact and we will miss him forever.

Sending love and comfort,
Anna

DG - thanks for turning a blind eye when others would have chosen not to and instead working on bringing the best qualities forward to help me succeed! I will never forget what you did for me in the early days of my Amazon career and the conversation we had is used to correct the course of others - in this way I hope you’re legacy and legend continues to help others as you helped me. I was looking forward to a drink when next back but I shall be sure to have one for you sir xx rest easy DG
