In loving memory of Dianna Elizabeth (Di) Gravely who sadly passed away on 9th April 2023
Di was born on the 11.02.1961 at 163 Telford Road Coventry to Sidney William Raven and Margaret Joyce Raven. When Di was 6 years old the family moved to Canvey Island. After leaving school Di started her nursing training at Southend Hospital. In 1981 I had the good fortune of meeting Di and went on to marry her in October 1984. Di stopped her training to look after our children Stuart, Stacey and Kim. Then when they were all in school she restarted her training in 1990 at Southend Hospital where she made some great friends and would turn out to be lifelong friendships. After she qualified she worked at Southend Hospital on the wards and A+E, then Basildon A+E and then back to Southend. Di left Southend Hospital to work for the prison service which is something she had wanted to do for a long time. After leaving the prison service she worked as a school nurse and remained there until she was medically retired. During this time we have been blessed with 8 grandchildren who she loved being around.

Loved Di. Always knowing but kind and just fantastic at triage and open to anything to make the right choices which helped so many people back to their families.

Can’t believe tomorrow is the day we say goodbye to you.
You gave us so much love and care.
You helped shape me to the women I am today and I am grateful always for that, if I am half the women you were I know I will be ok.
Till we meet again mum. 😘😘

Di,
The 27 years of friendship with you that I had, I treasured. You’ve always been there, be it laughing ( with or at me) through the fun times or as a shoulder through the tough ones. There was never a dull moment during our work days together and we shared so many special times. Thank you for welcoming me into you life and your family. Thank you for your acidic wit, your sarcasm, your wisdom and your guidance. Thank you for mentoring me as a nurse, supporting me as a friend and seeing the best in people. Find some poles in the clouds and give them all a show. Love you and miss you always xx
