A message from daughter Amanda and son Ricki:

With heavy hearts, we announce the departure of our beloved mum, Sandra Ann Martin, who passed away on February 12th 2023, just a few weeks before her 80th birthday.

Ever the fighter, and despite serious illness that hospitalized her for over 2 months at the end of 2022, she had recovered well and was released in time to enjoy a wonderful and well-deserved Christmas with her family.

Mum's passing was unexpected to us all, but we find comfort in knowing she died without suffering, and in her own home, which she loved. She will be missed deeply by family and friends alike, and her strength, resilience and determination will continue to inspire us.

Mum was very much loved within her neighbourhood, and we have appreciated all the cards and kind wishes we have received from all who knew her.

In keeping with mum’s joyful spirit, she requested that her funeral be a celebration of her life, and asked that guests avoid wearing all black. We kindly ask that you wear whatever makes you most comfortable, but to consider adding some colour to honour mum’s memory and wishes.

In recognition of the many amazing staff who cared for mum at Kings Mill Hospital last year, donations to the Sherwood Forest Hospitals Charitable Fund would be very much appreciated.

Message from Gerald Haynes: “My wife and I met Sandra and Norman on holiday one year, and spent a lot of time together during that holiday.

We kept in touch, and always exchanged Christmas and birthday cards.

Sandra was a lovely lady and I am shedding a tear”

Sandra, you will be remembered for your brightness - your smile and joy filled the room. Wish we had more time together but I will always cherish the small things: having tea at your house with you and Ricki or going for dinner with the family.
Your brightness will carry on through your children, grandchildren, family and friends who are missing you dearly but were lucky enough to have you in their lives. May you find peace and comfort in loving memories.
With much love,
Nahla ❤️
