In Loving memory of Raymond Hinson
1952 – 2023
Ray Hinson aged 70, unexpectedly passed away on the 24th of January in GWH after a short illness. He was the devoted husband of Marny Hinson who were happily married for 38 years. A man of many hobbies and interests throughout his life including fishing, gardening, cacti, koi carp as well as his much loved dogs. Ray volunteered a lot of his time to work for St John Ambulance where he was awarded the Service Medal of the Order of St John. He was a modest man who asked very little from life but gave a great deal with his gentle, kind and caring nature.
Beloved father of Melanie and Erin and much loved grandfather to Josh, Lottie, Immy and Ava.

A joint funeral service with his wife Marny Hinson will take place at Kingsdown Crematorium 9.30am Friday 24th February.
Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired to St John Ambulance would be appreciated and may be sent c/o Pearce Funeral Services or at the service.
Wake to follow at the Bakers Arms.

Ray you were such a ray of light even with your dry humour. Always thinking of Marnie and not worrying about yourself. I am glad you and Marnie are together again!

Dear Dad

Your gentle soul
Your dry wit
Your tone deaf humming 😉
Your calmness
Your consideration

They are just a handful of the thoughts that come to mind when I think of you

I can't think of you at all without humour entering into the equation
Which of course always brings a smile

How many times since you have gone, I have thought... I'll speak to dad about that
And within that fleeting moment, knowing I am no longer able to

I miss you Dad
Thank you for everything
I'm not sure I ever told you that. Not often enough

I love you always

Melzie

I was priviledged to be Raymonds cousin, he was a true gentleman and one of the most caring people I ever met. Always enjoyed his company from sharing fishing stories to catching up with his hobbies. So glad I was able to share a last pub lunch with him before Christmas. We will all miss him
