Peacefully at home, with loved ones at her side, on January 17th aged 96 years, Ena (née Daly). The beloved wife of the late Bert, much-loved mum of Maria, Mark, the late Pauline and a dear mother-in-law, adored nanny and great-nanny. A dearly loved sister, sister-in-law, aunty and friend of many.
Family and friends please meet on Friday February 3rd for a Requiem Mass in St Michael’s R.C. Church, Houghton-le-Spring at 1:45pm, committal to follow in Durham Crematorium. Family flowers only, donations in lieu kindly received for St Benedict’s Hospice. A donation box will be available in the church. Please join the family afterwards in The Mill Inn, Houghton-le-Spring for refreshments.
The family wish to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to all who cared for Ena from Coalfields District Nurses, Hetton Home Care, Kepier Medical Practice and the out-of-hours palliative care service from St Benedict’s Hospice.

Ena, though I never knew you by that name. You were a joy to be with whether sitting in the afternoons, shopping or going to a church for you to light candles for us. You were always Mark and Maria’s Mum to us and I adored you so much. I miss knowing you are no longer here. Gary Howard
