One of the best. He was my neighbour and a wonderful friend. Always so caring, both to myself and everyone who knew him. He always devoted Christmas to Crisis working tirelessly for the homeless.
He was a great cook and loved making cakes and jams which he gave away to his many friends. He also loved pickling onions - legendary.
He always kept an eye on me - being 90, it meant so much. If he and Alison organised lunches and barbecues, I was always invited and made so welcome. Last summer, he saw there was a reunion of my old school, Bullers Wood, and he and Alison took me to it (it couldn't really have been his scene!) and it was wonderful.
I'll never forget you Robert - truly a pillar of society.

Some lovely memories with Bob from our side

Ben & Dan - When we were younger, on a couple of birthdays, Bob would pick us up from school in his Louts and take us for some food. We’d be the talk of the playground for weeks!

He was a very giving person, we never left Bob with getting something, whether it be a bag of sweets, a box of baked goods, a pound coin or a very funny experience - Being put in the boot a couple of times amongst them 🤣 [Ben]

Always had a smile on is face, a pound coin to give and a quick witted remark ready to make you laugh. A pleasure to be around.

Jenny - My fondest memory of Bob was when the first mobile phone came out that had a 3 foot battery pack he had to carry around with it at all times. - It was clear he felt he’d made it!

In loving memory of Bob - he was such a good mate and always made my day when he called for a catch up.
Amazing memories of working at the Queens Chapel, days out at West Ham, couple of PSB concerts at the Albert Hall, amazing pickled onions and horrendously naff presents for Kitty and Elvis
Gonna miss you my friend

So many excellent memories since 1974

The Spotted Dog
Pie and Mash
Long rambling letters from the wilds of South London
Leaving a restaurant in France with a whole crab in his pocket (for which he had paid)
Enormous curries
His chili sauce
The car where the radio got louder the faster he drove it
And above all a friend who never once let me down

Bob,

I knew you would leave a large hole in the universe and my heart but I had no idea it would be this large or this deep. I'm glad you're at peace but I am missing you hugely. Rest well my beloved brother.
