Marjorie Gribben (10 Apr 1932 - 26 Dec 2022)

In loving memory of Marjorie Gribben who died peacefully at home, as she would have wished, on 26th December 2022 aged 90 years.

A long life well lived and well loved. Born Marjorie McDade to parents Charlie and Ann who had recently returned to Glasgow from New York. Older sister to Danny. Happily married to Jimmy for over 40 years until his death in 2001. Mum to Audrey and Carol and mother in law to Johnny and Alan. Grandma of Alistair.

A retired teacher who spent most of her teaching career in St Aloysius Primary first in Langside then Gartnethill, Marjorie started her working life as a shorthand typist with J&P Coats in the Kinning Park warehouse. Having to leave work on her wedding, Marjorie worked in other jobs before gaining academic qualifications and training as a teacher.
