Ray died at home peacefully on Saturday 31st December 2022, aged 64 years.

A beloved Husband, Dad and Grandpa
Ray will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.

Originally from Watford but latterly Alcombe, Somerset, Ray fought hard against a cruel disease that took him far too soon.

Ray had a full life, he worked as a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning engineer specialising in Chillers. He travelled the world as a commissioning engineer before becoming a manager. After a number of management roles, he set up his own company and took on both his sons as apprentices. This led him to be asked to teach Refrigeration which he did until he died. Although he often complained about the standards now, compared to “his day”, he loved sharing his knowledge and skills and this dedication resulted in him becoming a Fellow of the Institute of Refrigeration.

Ray was a wonderful husband and amazing father always putting his children first and doing everything to ensure they had a wonderful life growing up with him and Hannah.

Hannah, Shaun and Craig will miss him terribly but are truly thankful to have had such a wonderful and irreplaceable man in their lives.

Family flowers only, donations in lieu of flowers in Ray’s memory are being received in aid of the RNLI, can be left at the service or send via the tribute page here

I would like to thank everyone for their kind wishes, cards, flowers and donations in Rays memory he would be truly surprised at the response to his tragic death. I know that he will be pleased that the RNLI in minehead will benefit from this money and that it is going towards ensuring there are facilities for the female volunteers.
It is hard not having him here but I am very thankful that I found my soulmate and we had a fantastic and loving life together. Love you Ray, see you later xxxxx
