It’s hard to put in words something that describes Peter, apart from my love and admiration of him.
Peter was a loving husband, father brother and uncle. He was truly the head of the Nolan family and adored by all.
I’m so grateful to have known him, shared so many great times and enjoyed his stories and humour.

We are heartbroken,

I will miss you brother xxx

I first met Peter 20 odd years ago working at Laddies. We quickly became friends, which should have been strange as he was a scottish, gruff, middle aged father of three, who always tended to say things as they were…. Of course he was also very funny, bloody dry, exceedingly kind and caring, loyal and oh so wise. He became my manager as well as my mentor…the phrases ‘lipstick on a pig’ and ‘did you shit the bed this morning’ were amongst a couple that I remember Peter teaching me. His thirst to continually keep learning and expand his own knowledge sticks in my mind and remains one of the legacies that he encouraged me to follow.

But work was work and for Peter, nothing was as important as family. As the years rolled by our families spent many enjoyable hours together and I think I learnt more about early years parenting from Peter than probably anyone else. Peter and Jenny introduced our family to the joys of French Eurocamping, and even though it’s villas nowadays, that infectious love of France still remains, fuelled by those first shared holidays.
I think my favourite memories will be those shared around the dinner table (normally Jenny cooking and the rest of us boozing), whether in France, Bicester or Yorkshire, we were often putting the world to rights but more often than not, having a bloody good laugh.

Peter’s death is a massive loss to us all but most particularly to Jenny and the kids. We are so so sorry that he is gone. Life really is pretty rubbish sometimes.
