In loving memory of Eileen May Fitzgerald who sadly passed away on 7th December 2022, aged 84 years.

My Mum was born in Poplar E14. She was one of seven children and also one of four Daughters.

In 1964 she had me, her son Mark.

She met my step dad Noel on the 18th of April 1981 they were married. They lived in E14 right up until 2001 when they moved to Torromolinos. They had a great life in Spain and I spent many weekends and holidays enjoying time with them. It was a fantastic life.

Then on the 12th of May 2019 mums world was shattered when Noel passed away. This turned mum's world upside down. She tried to stay in Spain but it was just to much for her.

Mum did come back to the UK in December 2019 and what was supposed to me a two week holiday turn out to be a seven month break. Two days before going back she fell and broke her hip and then Covid stopped all travel.

She did get back to Spain eventually

After having several conversations she finally agreed to return back to the UK, so on the 4th of September 2021 I brought her back. Mum lived with us but wanted a place on her own so five weeks later she moved into Riverbourne Court, near us in Sittingbourne. Mum appeared to enjoy living there and making many new friend. Unfortunatly mum wanted to be with Noel and several times she told us all that she did not want to be here.

Mum had been poorly and lost quite a bit of weight. One the 16th of November she went to Medway Maritine Hospital for an iron infusion but the doctors asked to keep her in for tests. After a few weeks she sat myself and Karen down and told us that she didnt want to be here and once again said she just wanted to be with Noel. So on Monday the 5th of December they moved here to the Wisdon Hospice. Two days later I got a call to say that she had passed away at 07:45.

The hospice also told me that Mum has been calling my name through out the night.

I just want to add I have been very lucky to have two wonderful parents and I loved and miss them both so much.
