In loving memory of Barbara Mary Brigden who finally let slip her hold on an amazingly long life - and sadly passed away in the early hours of November 28th 2022, at very nearly 100 years, simply and peacefully of frailty of old age.
There will be a 'Joyful, Celebratory Thanksgiving Service' at St Stephen's Church, Chatham, to which everyone is welcomed, on Friday, January 6th, 2023, at 2.15pm, following a short private service at Bluebell Hill.
Barbara has asked for no flowers, but that donations in memory of her might be given to the 'Kent Association for the Blind' via cheques c/o T. Allen Funeral Service in Rochester, or, through the Just Giving donation link here.
The donations have been aranged with the KAB to be given purposely for the KAB Art Group run by Wendy Daws, with which Barbara has been involved so hugely since 2006. The disabilities that her condition of Macular Degeneration caused were outbalanced by the passion and dedication and sense of delight that Barbara gave in spreading understanding to people in all walks of life.
Just one very special lady!

Barbara was a very special person. Although I met her late in life, she always showed such a curiosity and interest in trying new things. Engaging company, with a sense of fun and warmth, Barbara was an inspiration to so many people who feel grateful to have known her.
