Loving mum, sister, daughter, cousin, niece, friend, soulmate and sunshine maker, Jackie was all these things and much more. Jackie's life came to an end on 7 November 2022 at the age of 54 after a brave battle with cancer; she really fought because she loved life. She passed away surrounded by loved ones who will honour her legacy by living life to the fullest.

Jackie was brought up and went to school in Southeast London. Whether at school, college, work, or simply on the train, her sunny disposition, her ability to listen & give advice, her sometimes, knife-edge humour always attracted people who, in many cases, became life-long friends. Her son often joked that it was impossible to go anywhere quickly with mummy because she would always stop every few yards to have a 20-minute chat with someone she knew.

Jackies greatest pleasure was being a mum to George and Connie, not only a mum but Godmother to Jessie, Crea, Harry and Roman. Jackie loved the company of children. On some afternoons after school, one would think it was party time in Jackie's living room, a room full of contented kids and Jackie sitting in the middle - the sunshine maker..

We will miss you Jackie, "you no time for coffee", 120 mile-per-hour girl.

Dear Jackie,
I can't believe you are being buried today! I am so sad. I have not spoken to Aunty because words fail me. Words really fail me. I do not know how to comfort her.
All those years of not seeing you physically do not take away from the grief I feel.
I have so many memories;  the fun times with you and Mug; you choosing to move downstairs so you could have your own space and all the time you spent redecorating it. Those fashion deals we got. You introduced me all sorts of foods and I started loving sarsaparilla which I couldn't stand at first.  Orangina became a favourite drink and I grew to love Twix because of you. We bought all sorts of spreads for our sandwiches but I  envied you as you didn't put on any weight. I even starting listening to your kind of music.
I remember when some lady was being sassy towards me you took the phone from me and gave her a piece of your mind. That was you, ready to fight battles for those you cared for.
The last time I saw you, you were rushing about with the laundry while introducing someone to me and then rushing off to the shops. I asked you about the scarf you had on and you said "You don't want to know the half of it!  and you smiled. I didnt know until much later.
My heart goes out to Aunty, your children George and Connie, Gloria, Alex, all the family and our darling Mug (a sister from another mother) May the Lord comfort everyone.
Rest in peace 🙏🏾.
Lola

I can’t quite believe we’re never going to see beautiful Jackie again. Beautiful inside and out. I can see her now as if it were yesterday walking up Walworth Road always dressed to impress with that beautiful smile always smiling, always chatting. Would take her hours to get from one end to the other. Always gave everyone her time, always remembered if you had had happy news or showed such care if you had sad news. You were a truly amazing and inspirational person and you will always be remembered and never forgotten. A legacy is not leaving something for people. It’s leaving something in people. God bless George and Connie ❤️❤️
