In loving memory of Andrew Robert Cocker who sadly and unexpectedly passed away on 29th September 2022, at the age of 61.

Andrew was born and raised in Calgary, Canada and spent the last 19 years living and working in the UK.
He had many hobbies and interests including music, model railways, the Scouts, darts, NHL hockey, both Canadian & European football, barbequing and really good beer.

He was a thoughtful, generous man, with a wicked sense of humour. He enjoyed helping people, in a quiet understated way, never wanting to take credit, but happy to be repaid with a pint.

He was a very hoopy frood who always knew where his towel was!
And he will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

Oh my goodness.
We are so very saddened and shocked to learn that you have passed away Andrew.
We will never forget the kindness of both you and the lovely Liz, taking time to show us around the hidden gems in London on our trips back to the UK and also your love of good music.
One memory that sticks out was how proud you were of wearing your DM boots hidden under your work trousers like a rebel.
We cannot comprehend how lost your amazing wife Liz must be without you and our thoughts are with her and your family.
We will cherish our nights out with you.
Rest in Peace.
Julia and Robert

We were deeply saddened by Andrew’s passing and remember him very fondly for his warmth, generosity and kindness. He was a wonderful friend to our family, patient, thoughtful, and wise, and always delighted to share his beautifully curated collection of beers with us grown-up Strachans and outstanding barbecued food with us all. We miss him very much.

I met Andrew by random chance in a curry house, and 20 years later he felt like a member of my family. He was the first person to share a drink with me after the birth of my eldest daughter to share wisdom, and the first to come around and see me after an operation to share support. I wish we had a photo together, but his beaming smile - usually displayed after schooling me at darts (time after time after time) - is forever etched into my memory, and I think of him frequently. Miss you greatly, Andrew.

  • Andrew never liked having his picture taken, but after a couple of hours on the Bermondsey beer mile he’s a lot more open to the idea. Love You Bro, miss you everyday

Rest easy brother, your company within the Tangerine community was always appreciated. A dry humour, a good beer & great music. A life well lived indeed.
Say hi to Edgar for me at your new cosmic address.

  • This was a great evening. Andrew, you are sorely missed. I'll always remember an intelligent, sharp and kind man, who I think I shared a sense of humour with. I won't forget the kindness you showed me and the things you introduced me to. Love to everyone who feels the loss of you in their lives.

I have just learned of the sad passing of Andrew.
I met Andrew and Liz by way of the Great British Train Show in Brampton, Ontario many years ago. Yes, he loved a decent pint and where better to enjoy such that in the U.K.
We send sad condolences to Liz and family.

I was shocked and saddened to hear that Andrew had passed. You just don't expect it in someone so young! He and Liz became good friends with their generosity and loving spirits. I will indeed treasure my last 'in person' with Andrew, when they took us out for drinks in London, after paying for our anniversary dinner (!); his edgy sense of humour; his love of his kitties and gardening; their trips to the continent to beer festivals; and their trips home to visit relatives.
I offered Liz to have a memorial service at the Ship, but funds and time have not made that possible. Maybe in the New Year?
