Jean Anne King, aged 69, loving mother of three, nan of eight, great nan of five, and adoring wife of husband Terry, passed away surrounded by her family on the 18th of October after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was diagnosed with terminal cancer in June 2022, and was receiving immunotherapy, but unfortunately this was not able to keep her with us any longer.
Jean was born on the 4th of July 1953 in Coventry to parents Jean and Richard. She grew up with four brothers and a loving family. Jean moved to Bude with Terry in 1994 and thoroughly enjoyed her 28 years here, surrounded by their children and grandchildren.
Jean was a loving, caring and admirable woman, who always did everything that she could for others, this was taken forward into motherhood as her and Terry raised Sharon, Angela and Terry. As a mum, Jean was generous, compassionate and thoughtful, with complete admiration for her children. Jean and Terry made precious memories with their children in Mablethorpe where they would visit the beach, the donkeys and the arcades. Jean was thrilled with each new addition to the family and would love the opportunity to spoil each grandchild. She had nicknames for her grandchildren, e.g., Cameron was her “handsome little soldier” and Jasmine was her “Mother Hen”.
Jean took pride in the garden that she created with Terry. She filled her garden with various beautiful flowers and plants, with lilies being her favourite. She also loved to see the birds that regularly frequented it. This garden was a special place for her during her final few months.
Jean will be greatly missed by her family who adored her with their whole being, she was a constant in their lives and they will struggle to adapt to a life without her in it.

A Cremation Service to say a final goodbye to Jean will be held at Glynn Valley Crematorium, Turfdown Road, Fletchersbridge, Bodmin PL30 4AP. On the 2nd November at 13:30pm.
A celebration of Jean’s life will follow at Kerenza Hotel, Flexbury Ave, Bude Cornwall EX23 8RE.
Guests should arrive to Kerenza for 4.30pm - it is a fundraising event so any donations would be welcome.
In Jean’s memory, donations may be given for Cancer Research and/or the RSPB, to help others in their battle with cancer and to protect the wildlife that Jean loved so much.

Sincere Condolences to all of Jean's family. I have only just found out that dear Jean died in October. Very fond memories of working with her at the Summerleaze Beach Hotel in the late 90s.Jean was a lovely and very kind lady. Rest In Peace Dear Jean xx

Such a kind woman, you had a big heart and were always thinking of others even when you had troubles of your own. I will miss seeing you and comparing birds we have coming into the garden, and hearing all about your family. You were always so proud of each and every one. Rest easy Jean, you made the world a better place by being in it.

Mum. The hardest thing i am ever going to have to do as the oldest child. We watched as you battled with the horrible life changing disease. But you were so brave and courageous through numerous operations. Dad,myself,Carl and Terry waited each time for you to come out of theatre so we were there when you woke up preparing ourselves to help you through. But you never gave up and fought to the end. I gave you Daniel, Devon and Emilio who love you so much. Then they gave you 5 great grandchildren between them who you adored. The hardest thing is you wont see Emilio and ellies baby when born but i know you will be watching over them and keeping them safe.We will look after dad for you. We love you Mum and someday i will walk into your arms again.

Auntie Jean, I fondly remember coming to your house and having so many happy times. Going in holiday with you all to Maplethorpe. I remember when we got up in the morning and you made us all toast only to find out you had no butter so we tried lard instead well none of us ate any of it. You packed us in the car and uncle Terry drove us to maplethorpe for our holiday. You where so brave and never let the cancer take over you. I hope you are catching up with your mum and mine. Until we meet again xxxxxxxx
