In October 1972, fifty years ago, we moved to our new home in Reigate where Chris & Mary were our lovely neighbours and have been our very good friends ever since. Chris, a kind, loyal friend, who shared his love of football and all sports with my dear husband, Alan.
Rest in peace
With much love, Janet, Rob and Sarah

Chris was a wonderful man, it was a privilege to have him as my father in law. I’m going to miss all those football chats.

Chris, you and Mary were the best of neighbours to us. We were always welcomed round with a smile and a glass of wine. To our children you were like a grandad and we are all so blessed to have known you. Thank you for introducing us to the game of bowls, for your generosity, your kindness and your cheeky poetry during the pandemic. We love you and miss you.
May God surround you with comfort Mary and Ciaran.

My brother Chris was always someone i looked up to. He was a great athlete and sometimes my protector. We grew up at 5 Ivy avenue before moving to North Scale. Any sport he played he excelled in. I was a groom at his and Mary's wedding and we always stayed in touch, Chris and Mary came out to Canada twice and stayed with me. As our dad got older Chris and i would stay with him. We would go down to the betting office that were on television and then come back and watch them on tv with our dad. During his illness he showed his strength of charactor and i was very proud him. I will miss him and remember all of the good tims we had. Mike.

Chris’s big brother John will be attending the funeral and the reception accompanied by his sons David and Nicholas. His third son Martin tried without success to get time off work to do so, and Ann is unable to be there because of her disability. John and Ann have made a donation to Cancer Research UK..
