Hilary Stafford (7 Apr 1944 - 19 Aug 2022)

Suddenly in York Hospital on Friday 19th August 2022 aged 78 years. Much loved wife of Trevor, devoted mum to Alison, the late Jo, and Linz (daughter number three), amazing Nanan to Abigail, Myles, Thomas, Chandler and Ellie, dear mother-in-law to Alan and Paul.
Funeral and committal service to be held at St Wilfrid's Church, Brayton, on Friday 30th September at 1.00pm. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu may be given to Yorkshire Children's Charity, a plate will be provided at the Church. A splash of colour may be worn at Hilary's request.

Hilary was a devoted Mum and Nanan and her patience, care, love and nurturing for her family and others will be her lasting legacy. The chosen charity fits perfectly with her values and passions. She could connect with anyone but her deep wish to optimise the potential of children, will be mirrored in the work they do in her name. They plan to use any donations to pragmatically and in a very bespoke way, fix obstacles that then unlock potential for those who are most vulnerable and disadvantaged. Her ability to see the world through a child's eyes meant that whatever their struggles, she had endless patience and took huge delight in every achievement however small. She is utterly irreplaceable, but our family take comfort from the fact that she had such lasting impact on so many lives and she leaves behind countless happy memories.
