In loving memory of James Henry Pearce 'Jim' who sadly passed away on 20th August 2022, aged 88 years.

Jim will be deeply missed by loving wife Anne, daughters' Denise, Jayne and Emma, grandchildren Alexandra and her husband Wes, James, Oliver and great-grandson Noah.

Jim was born and raised in Chelsea, London to parents Kit and Jim Pearce, along with brothers Tommy, Terry and sister Kathleen. He lived most of his adult life in Fulham, London and moved to Rainham 11 years' ago with his beloved wife Anne, where they quickly became very happily settled in a community of great friends and neighbours.

Jim was a professional driver all his working life, having learned to drive during his National Service. He was a London Black Cab driver for over 40 years, finally retiring in his 70's.

Jim was a wonderful cook, a keen gardener and terrific at all forms of DIY. He had a fantastic sense of fun and loved to make people laugh and enjoy themselves. Most of all he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Jim's family have requested family flowers only please, c/o John Weir Funeral Directors, Rainham. If desired, donations for 'The Macular Society' would be gratefully received and can be made online via this page.

Thank you.

To have laughed and brought laughter to others.
To have left the world a better place because you were in it.
To know even one life has breathed easier because you lived.
To have love and been loved by those around you.
To have lived a decent life.
To have left your values with your children and their children
This is to have succeeded in life.

Well done Jim on a life WELL lived

We are in this place a short time,
then we Go Home.

Be at Peace My Friend
God Bless You Always
George & Hannah x

The world is diminished by the loss of someone of decency, humour, faith, caring. He is now in the Merciful presence of God; this is the promise of our faith and our deep consolation. RIP my dear dear man

Jim and I had our differences over the years, 48 years I think, but we had a lot of common traits so were bound to clash occasionally. We developed a strong bond and friendship and there were several times that he gave me spiritual support when I needed it. I learned how to be a grumpy old git from the master and I respect his faith in God. He has returned to the void as we all will one day but most importantly his memory will live on in all of those who knew him whilst we survive and remember. Goodbye Jim, I loved you... Paul.
