Alex, although we didn’t meet often, when we did, you never failed to make us laugh. Rest easy.

It is hard being a parent,especially when you have lost two deeply loved children.
Alex was never afraid to express his own opinions and like many children often disagreed with his parents. Nevertheless,he was always kind and thoughtful towards other people often, without warning, producing gifts he thought they needed.
His last six years were extremely difficult knowing that his cancer would ultimately be terminal and that it was caused by the failure of his former employers to comply with health and safety regulations, not through any fault of his own. He never complained or grumbled to us about his condition and throughout his illness he thought of his immediate family and did everything he could to provide for their future.
We have watched him bear insufferable pain and discomfort which he fought with strength and bravery right up until the end and even though he knew he had little time left, his last words to his Mother were: "Relax Mum!"

Alex - you know me never good with the written language so will keep it simple, bit like myself !
You’ll be missed and we loved you very much. Kirstie, Jamie & Sadie xx

Alex, so sad I didn’t get up to see you, so much I wanted to say! You taught me so much, how to stand up for myself, to always question everything I was told, even by you! To ask more questions, to challenge the answers.! You introduced me to the circus of horrors. Now that was fun. I got to see you and Angela have the most amazing wedding and bring three beautiful intelligent children on to the world. I’m so grateful for last summer, watching Willow follow your every move was magic. Alex, Ruben, willow, myself and col will miss you. You were so loved xx

Alex was truly one of life’s special people. He was great friend and if he could help he just would. He challenged people and expected people to challenge others.
