In loving memory of Philip Nunn who sadly passed away peacefully on 16th July 2022 in hospital with his family around him.

Phil was born in Newport Shropshire on the 4th October 1956 to Mother Joyce, Father Gerard and elder Brother Michael.

He attended Adams Grammar School in Newport where he formed his love of Basketball and made some wonderful friends.

He built a life with his wife Alison whom he met whilst working at Halifax in Halesowen. He went on to work for the Halifax for 36 years, a time he remembered very fondly before retiring at the early age of 55.

He is survived by Alison and his sons Michael and Alex and beloved dogs Dudley and Chester who miss him greatly but will also remember the wonderful childhood and memories that he created for the family.

The family thank everyone for their kind wishes, memories and generous donations to the causes very dear to us and Phil.

Saddened to hear today about my schoolfriend Philip Nunn (AKA Bun). I was advised by a mutual schoolfriend, Rodney Holmes. Just to say that we had a great time in the 6th form at Adam's Grammar school. It was interesting to see that Phil loved his camera. I too am a bit if a camera bore. It would have been funny to have bumped into him in Barcelona taking pictures of the Sagrada Familia. Will it ever be finished?. Also got memories of him visiting us at our farm on his scooter. I think I actually got on the pillion too!.
Love to Philips family. Would gave loved to gave seen him in the intervening years. I can see he was a well loved man. Pleased to have known him if only for a few years.

I was lucky enough to meet Phil in Basingstoke when I wasn’t sure I still had a future at the Halifax. His generosity of spirit and his way of seeing the best in people gave me a reason to be there. He had this inane ability to turn the darkest of days into a fun fest and he always had time and words of wisdom for people. He taught me a love of photos from behind the lense and we spent ages in La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona treking up and down hundreds of steps to get the best shots. He was such a kind family man and welcomed my boys in the office if they came to meet me. He was there for me when my mum got Alzheimer’s and always around to give a hug or wise word when needed. His immortal words the night before a job interview, when he called to wish me luck and tell me not to f it up have always stayed with me since. I was so lucky to call him a friend and will be forever grateful to have had him in my life. They say people will forget what you say but will always remember how you made them fee. So thanks Phil for making me feel valued. RIP buddy I will try not to f things up till we meet again Xx

Phil was a great friend and colleague for many years. I have fantastic memories of a man who was kind, generous, positive, a warming smile and an ability to have a quick-witted response for every occasion.

I remember spending 3 days in Barcelona with Phil and having to stop every few steps for another photo opportunity!

We shared lots of meals together and many trips to conferences. One of my fondest memories was watching a pleased as punch Phil, walking onto stage to receive the national top Branch manager award.

Phil will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace my friend.

We didn’t meet at work until late in our careers. Phil was a real one off and every day was so much fun. It was great to see the impact he had on other people and just how many people liked and respected him. Our days always started with a similar conversation and if you know him you will it can’t be committed to print.
RIP my friend - you will be missed by many.

Where do we begin! Such a huge part of our Black Country family. We have such special memories of the caravan holidays, Christmas and family celebrations we shared when you came back to the Midlands. The four boys had a ball, loved being together and I know that you loved the fact that despite the distance they still catch up now at any opportunity. You have two amazing boys! I am sorry that I could not find the words to say I proper goodbye.

So shocked and very sad to hear the news. I echo all the comments of so many friends and colleagues - I am thinking of all the family today. A remarkable man - a true mentor - never to be forgotten.
