In loving memory of Roy Edward Buttle who sadly passed away on 25th May 2022, aged 80 years.
Roy was a mate of my brother. They were in the Merchant Navy, on the Orient line.
He to live at our house in Rotherham. He worked on Rotherham Corporation Transport as a bus conductor in the early sixties.
He was a brilliant bloke. Proud to have known him.
Requiescat in pace, Roy.

I’ve known Roy for the best part of 72 years and he was the nicest guy you could ever hope to meet. His dry sense of humour & down to earth nature were hard to beat. Roy will be sorely missed.
It was an absolute privilege to have been blessed by knowing one of life’s true gentleman. Roy was someone who always had the right words regardless of the conversation - whether you were asking his advice or just having banter he gave you what you needed at that time. Gutted I cannot make your service of remembrance but rest assured I will raise a glass in your honour 🥃 Rest easy Roy
