We have very fond memories of our get togethers in France. Wonderful happy times spent with Jim and Anne. Jim doing jobs and sharing his extensive knowledge. Happy Times. RIP Jim

My First memory is visiting you and Ann as Mark’s new girlfriend. You were a charming and hospitable host and happy to include me as part of the family. You became my father -in-law 3 years later and later still the grandfather to our two children. You have been a wonderful father in law and grandfather, always displaying your affection and a keenness to encourage new experiences and an enquiring mind. You were also always ready to engage in lively discussions about politics with a cheeky smile! You and Ann hosted regular family gatherings and it was always a delight to be a guest at your table, to experience new tastes and engage in noisy family banter and occasionally witness you and Ann jiving to trad jazz after dinner. I also have very many special memories of our holidays with you and Ann in France and the wonderful experiences we enjoyed with you and your French neighbours notwithstanding my complete hopelessness in trying to translate the French chatter into English….
For me, I will remember you as head of the table, looking around you with a lovely smile on your face and obvious pride and joy for your family.
We will all miss you hugely. RIP Jim xxx

As a teenager your home felt like a second home to me. You always both made me feel so welcome Jim always had a tale to tell. I have especially fond memories of coming to your house on Christmas day towards the end of your Christmas lunch - which took place at least 3 hours after hours after ours - & sitting flitting between the living room where Anne and the girls would be with the Maron Glaces & the dining table where Jim & Mark would be with the cheese! Happy memories. Jim you truly live on through your son who is so like you in so many ways. Much love to you all at this sad time. X

Jim was my best friends dad.
To me he was always smiling, always there for a chat and he always made me feel he was genuinely interested in what I had to say. He was kind to me and he was a wonderful role model of what family life was all about. I enjoyed my chats with Jim, the many times I spent talking with Jim was always time well spent.
I’m going to miss our chats.
Goodnight & Sleep tight Love Heidi-Hi XxX
