Brian Peter Mann (5 May 1941 - 31 Aug 2015)

What sad news. Brian I remember when you took me out on my refreshers course and the first lesson a young lad came out of nowhere on his roller blades and as I was just about to pull away I nearly hit him. You very calmly asked if I wanted to do it another day, but the best thing is really to carry on. Carry on we did and I have never looked back since. What a caring patient and kind man, When ever I saw you at the shop you always had time to stop and talk. I will never forget you. My thoughts go out to your family at this sad time. May you rest in peace Brian.

Brian was a big part of our family learning to drive, all 3 of us saw Brian on our 17th birthday for our first driving lesson. He even taught our mum to drive. A lovely man who I can imagine had a positive input into many people's lives. I still feel bad for being Brian's first student to ever be in a car crash during a lesson. Resulting in him having to make his first insurance claim. Somehow I still managed to pass first time. My thoughts are with his family at this time xx

Very saddened to hear about the passing of Brian. I will never forget this lovely, patient, kind man. Brian u taught me to drive for 5 years. We had very funny conversations about your hatred for kebabs, your love of supermarket curry meal deals lol.... I'll always remember when I panicked about playing music in my car (hard to believe now) and you put yours on during my lesson and it was Toni Braxton!! I couldn't believe it! You were a very cool guy... You saw me through several failed texts and let me cry on your shoulder..... I don't know a single person who would have a bad word to say which just goes to show what a lovely man you were... Was an honour to have known u xx

It is with a heavy and very sad heart that I am sharing this sad sad news with the many people this wonderful man has helped learn to drive and get them through their driving test. He helped me and my sister learn to drive and I still hear him say certain things to me when driving on certain roads in Wiltshire!! His love of Werther's Originals I used to buy him and when he used to buy his Panama's from the Total Garage on Semington Road where I worked too. Such a huge loss of a legend of a man to Melksham's community!!
