Mr and Mrs George enabled us to cope at a distressing time following the death of our mother.
The funeral arrangements were simplified and all of the necessary formalities and choices were explained to us.
The funeral was as we wished.

Contacted a few companies. His was the most competitive price which is a good start but the whole matter was dealt very well indeed and he clearly extended himself in what he did and how he approached it.

My family were very grateful for the whole organisation of the funeral arrangements by Ian and his wife. The planning and execution was wonderful and help under such dire circumstances were great, this helped take the stress away from my family who were suffering as you would expect after losing the mother who was the hub of the family. Ian and Danesha couldn't do enough to help me at this time of sadness. They lead me all the way and explained each stage from the time of death all through to the funeral and beyond. There recommendations regarding Minister and Flowers were second to none and their own professional manner was impeccable. I will not forget the arrangements they made to collect Mum from Wales taking her back to where she was born.

Following the death of my little  Mum , l could not have picked a better company than Ian George,
I didn't want a big company, l didn't want Mum to just be another person , she deserved special treatment and Ian ENSURED that is what we ALL got.
Both him and his lovely wife supported me through everything from the call to say Mum had died to the end
Ian read my needs like a book and quitely guided me in a caring , professional manner.
At a very difficult time in someone's life , to have a person you can totally be yourself with is such a help.
My daughter and l went to visit Mum and what Ian had done was outstanding , she looked beautiful, a man with real talent who saw her just as she was in life though he had never met her, she was my Mum but somehow looked much younger than her 90 yrs and so at peace - thank you for that Ian.
I CANNOT praise Ian and his work highly enough, he has a small , friendly family business but a heart that is huge and understanding like no other.

Ian George was requested to carry out Tracey's funeral as he carried out her fathers in 2015. I have to say that on both occasions he proved to be an excellent choice with his very personal involvement taking away a lot of pressure on the family.

Chose Ian because he is a family firm and I wanted that personal touch. Didn't regret my choice for a moment. Ian guided me through the process in a very friendly and understanding way, but very efficient. He took the service for us (didn't know funeral directors could do this, but it suited us much better than having a priest) and gave a lovely, thoughtful, funeral.

Ian is very personable, guiding you through the whole process with sensitivity and feeling. The funeral was very well organised and carried out with the highest level of professionalism, whilst maintaining a human element at what is a very difficult time. Just so pleasant and easy to work with. Nothing was too much trouble and I mean nothing - a wheelchair was made available for my elderly mother and a recording of an LMS steam train going up Shap Fell was also produced (don't ask). Mr George was so nice and normal, his wife kind and understanding, it was almost like being looked after by old friends. The funeral itself went really smoothly and we were made to feel by Mr George that his involvement in this last service for my father was a genuine privilege. Having read an article in a paper recently supporting the use of independent funeral directors I am so glad that I followed the advice given and chose Ian George. I would recommend him without reservation.

I am very grateful to Ian George for providing a thoroughly professional yet compassionate and personal funeral service. There was no pressure and Ian provided some well considered guidance and made some excellent suggestions that really added to my wife's funeral. None of us ever want to have to arrange a funeral for a loved one but Ian made it far less difficult. A very good choice if you require a funeral director.
