In loving memory of Maria Elizabeth Stevens who sadly passed away on 30th April 2022.
Our Queen grew her wings after a short hard battle with small cell lung cancer.
From day dot, our queen always said that she would fight too the very end in which she definitely kept her word.
Mum was first diagnosed on the 14th March 2022 and did not anticipate 7 weeks later we would be holding our queen & saying our goodbyes.
‘Chardonnay’ loved her wine & especially her fags & neither one was far from her…..
Our girl always made sure us kids had the best in life & she would say we repaid her by giving her beautiful grandchildren 🥰
She was one in a million as a mum, wife, nanny, sister, Aunty & friend, and such a strong woman!
We so wish we got to spend more time with mum, but the angels called her & needed her strength sooner rather than later 😢.
Heartbroken is an understatement loosing the queen of our family, who always pulled us all together & would shout at us for arguing with each other & always make sure we got along.
Our family could not be any tighter if it wasn’t for mum.
Our Chardonnay brought us kids into this world & we were all there hand in hand by her side with her loving husband when she left us. we will do her proud alongside dad in sending her to her place of rest.
For all that knew mum would know that she had a heart of gold, she was selfless, always on the end of the phone, and would say it as it is…..
There are soooo many memories that we just cannot put into words as a family & also friends.
But if you have any stories, memories or even photos please share them with us, to be able to look back on the good times with mum.
Goodbyes are not forever, goodbyes are not the end, they simply mean I miss you until we meet again girl!

Mums favourite color is electric blue and wished for us as a family to wear that color. But no preferences to yourselves.

She was a wonderful lady full of happiness and kindness. I remember 1 particular time I went to work in tears as was having a hard time she just smiled at me took me to the day centre at work made me coffee and said chin up girl don't let them get u down and cuddled me. I felt better straight away I lost contact when she left work but I will always remember her such a strong amazing woman. She will get the send off she deserves she was so proud of u all. Fly high Maria b the amazing woman u have always been xx
