In loving memory of Patrick John Crabtree who died on 18th April 2022 with his wife Bobby and daughter Florence by his side.

It was almost exactly a year since his diagnosis of oesophageal cancer. He was 65yrs old.

Patrick was born in Wilstead, Bedfordshire but spent most of his life in Barnes, London where he was very well loved and respected. He was a gentleman and a gentle man; kind, calm, practical and thoroughly decent with a wry sense of humour , an engaging warmth and a beaming smile that endeared him to everyone he met.

After attending Latymer Upper School in Hammersmith, Patrick joined forces with his father John and formed Crabtree Kitchens, a successful business designing, manufacturing and installing bespoke kitchens. He continued working into his 60s running Crabtree Project Management, a company facilitating domestic refurbishments for a wide client base.

A keen sportsman Patrick played at Barnes RFC over four decades where he became something of a local legend as well as becoming the safe guarding officer for the youth section. He also enjoyed cycling and tennis and was Chairman of Barnes Tennis Club.

Patrick was an acknowledged expert on the bar b q, a relaxed, generous and convivial host at countless parties and dinners and was never happier than at the stern of the family canal boat, tiller in one hand and a whisky in the other.

Patrick will be deeply missed by Bobby and Florence, parents Margaret and John, sister Alex and the rest of his immediate family and his untimely death has left a huge hole in the lives of the many friends, neighbours, colleagues and acquaintances who were lucky enough to have met him.

A darling man, gone far too soon.
