RIP Aunty Margaret, I will always remember you for being the true matriarch of the Walker family, taking on that mantle so naturally after Nana passed all those years ago. Thank you for always being there for my family, providing so much love and support especially to my mum and dad during some difficult times.

I first saw Margaret when she moved next door to me with three kids, and assorted dogs and cats. I can’t deny I was a little worried, but of course she turned out to be the best neighbour ever and we became friends. My daughter Zoë was also upset to hear Margaret had passed and wanted to say she had fond memories of both her and Graham. Margaret was like that, she made everyone’s life a little better for just knowing her.

How can I possibly put into words what Margaret meant to both Neil and myself, she was the most caring of people..she would always phone me for a chat and ask how I was doing and was I coping...she never moaned about her life or problems..I have her messages on my answer phone and just cant delete them ..just to hear her chirpy voice would cheer me up. My dearest hope and desire is that she is happy with her beloved Graham, Mum and Chloe ...Rest in peace Mags I love and miss you so much ..your sister and friend forever Marianne xx

Auntie Margret had this look, it’s difficult to describe but when you caught her eye you were drawn in with warmth and kindness, topped off with a friendly smile. She was always interested in what I was doing and how my family were getting on and she was direct and honest, there were no throw away words. Auntie Magret was one of the few people who supported me in everything I did and would regularly say “well done Gaz”, it meant a lot.
I spent much of my childhood with Her and my cousins in Espinade Gardens and have many happy memories, especially of the huge family gatherings at Christmas and the fantastic Christmas dinners. Magret was a great cook, it was Chez Marguerite where I developed my culinary pallet as she would insist that I eat my greens before leaving the table, I learnt that patience is a virtue and now love my greens and can’t eat a pea without remembering her.
Thanks for the support and memories you will be greatly missed xxx

Margaret and I met over 35 years ago, when her son, Julian met and later married my daughter Samantha. We have been friends ever since and, more recently spent some fun lunches together. She didn't stop laughing and was always so nicely
turned out. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to her - she remembered everyone's birthday! I will miss her humour and kindness.Much love and respect, Hazel (Harman)

Aunty Margaret was such a kind and caring person. She has always been there for me and my mum and dad whenever she was needed..in practical ways, by making meals or cake, or giving lifts when any of us were injured or unwell, or visiting ..or by the regular phonecalls of support and genuine love. I have always appreciated it all..and felt lucky to have such a loving Aunty. Thankyou for everything you did for us Aunty Margaret..I will never forget you. ❤️ Sheryl. Xxx

  • Family Christmas parties at Esplanade Gardens were wonderful. Aunty Margaret cooked up a storm and was always the life and soul of the party. Her sherry trifle will go down in history ! Some of my most treasured childhood memories xx
