David Springett of Rugby, Warwickshire passed away unexpectedly on Sunday 3rd April 2022.

A devoted family man, father to Robin and Nicola and grandfather to Ellie, Holly and Oliver, David is survived by his beloved wife Christine. David dedicated much of his life to his passion for wood turning and his illustrious career, spanning over 40 years, has left an impression on so many within the wood turning and lace making communities. His ideas and creativity will live on through his array of books, articles and videos on the subject.

All of you who knew David will agree when we say he'll be remembered for his curious mind, unending kindness and love of mischief! A true gentleman with a twinkle in his eye he was loved and respected by all who met him.

David's funeral will take place at Rainsbrook Crematorium on Monday 25th April at 2pm with refreshments afterwards at Rugby Railway Club, Hillmorton Road. All are welcome!

We wish to make the day a celebration of David's life so the occasion will be as positive and upbeat as possible - just as he would wish. Please wear brightly coloured clothing and be ready to raise a smile in memory. We do request that whilst Covid is still prevalent, that you are mindful of those who are more vulnerable and do your best to protect them.

To help us plan for the event, it would be very helpful if you could indicate if you are planning to attend. We would also be delighted if you would leave a funny story or memory you have of David in the options below to help us celebrate his life.

David was an amazing turner and was so helpful with advice to me over the many years. His skill and knowledge will be sadly missed by all in the lacemaking world and beyond. He always was smiling and so friendly. So sorry I cannot attend the funeral in person today but my thoughts are with Christine, Robin and Nicola, love and thoughts. Chris
