In loving memory of Mary Johnson who sadly passed away on 28th February 2022 at Rowans Hospice, Purbrook, aged 60.

Mary was born on March 6, 1961, as the fourth child of Thomas and Aleyamma Poozhikunnel, in Samkranthy, Kottayam. After completing her primary education in Holy Family High School, Parampuzha and secondary education in St Marcellina's Girls High School, Nattassery, Kottayam, she completed her pre-degree from BCM College in 1979. She graduated nursing from Ellen Thoburn Cowen Memorial Hospital, Kolar, Karnataka in 1983.

Mary worked as a nurse over 39 years, first at ETCM Hospital and then at Bombay Hospital. She worked in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Bahrain until ultimately settling in Portsmouth, United Kingdom, where she worked as a registered nurse at Queen Alexandra Hospital.

Mary married Johnson Puthenkalam, of Kumarakom, in Kottayam, on February 8, 1988, Mary is preceded in death by her parents, and survived by her beloved husband Johnson Puthenkalam, daughter Josy and her husband Ajo Jose Koonthamattathil, son Kevin, and granddaughter Sarah, and her siblings; Annamma Mathew Kavanal (Karimkunnam), Lukose Poozhikunnel (Chennai), Prof Babu Poozhikunnel (Samkranthy), Tessy Jimmy Tharayil (Delhi), and Tom Sajan Poozhikunnel (USA).

A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Mary was an active member and Eucharistic Minister at her parish St Coleman' Church, Cosham, Portsmouth. She was also an active member of Knanaya Community in Portsmouth and UKCC.

She embodied joy and strength, and she will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
