Marian passed peacefully on 25th February 2022 in her own home, which would not have been possible without the amazing support provided by Princess Alice Hospice.

The family invite those who knew and loved Marian to make a donation to the hospice, in place of sending flowers, via this Just Giving page and to share memories of her as a lasting tribute and celebration of her life.

Marian (affectionately known by the family as ‘Nan’) was a fun-loving entertainer with a love of music from all genres and she danced her way through the days demonstrating this to all. She was known as ‘The Dancing Queen’ amongst her closest family and friends with an ever-present smile portraying
her enjoyment of life. She liked nothing better than a good laugh!

She was also a great story-teller and recalled and retold her treasured memories from all aspects of her life to any willing listener and they were always fascinated by ‘the good old days’ stories of how life was when she was a child and teenager living with her siblings.

As the years passed, her stories became about modern-day events and memories shared with her four children, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and the many extended family members.

Marian had her fair share of suffering and endurance during her life’s journey yet would somehow manage to muster up a smile whatever befell her. During such times she would pen many a poem expressing her feelings in private, only sharing humourous ditties with family and friends, much to their delight. Even in hard times she liked to express her joie de vivre!

Marian had a serious side too and was always willing to give advice to help people through a difficult experience. At 97 she had earned that right, having been through so much herself.

This wonderful woman, loved by many, will be missed by both family and friends alike.
