It is with great sadness that the family of Lisa Richards announces her sudden passing, on Tuesday 21st December 2021, at the age of 60.

Lisa was receiving treatment for Bowel cancer for 15 months. She put up a brave fight, but sadly lost her battle with cancer and passed away at the Princess Royal Hospital Orpington. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Mark, her son Adam, Daughter in Law Jodie, Grandson Herbie, her Mum Doreen, sister Sharon, brother Stephen and all her nieces and nephews.

Lisa worked as a Personal Assistant/Events organiser until she took early retirement. She loved to cook, especially cakes. On retirement she signed up to a cake decorating class to perfect her skills.

She was never happier than when all her family were together with her. She especially loved looking after Herbie, her grandson (“her favourite”). He brought her many hours of pleasure.

She will leave an enormous void in so many lives. She had lots of lifelong friends. She had a wicked sense of humour, was the life and soul of the party and would do anything for anyone.

The funeral service will be held at the Bluebell Cemetery (Cremation), Old London Road Halstead TN14 7AE 10am on Weds 19th Jan 2022.

A live video stream will be available. Please email Sharon (her sister) with your details if you would like the video link. shriggers@ic24.net

Dear Lisa. She was such a treasure. She gave me tips on organising a wedding, advice on getting visas, gossip from around the business. We have lost too many friends in the last year.

I had the pleasure of working with Lisa for several years at ICIS and am so sorry to hear she's passed away. She was a wonderful colleague with a brilliant sense of humour and an incredible ability to navigate even the most difficult visa applications. My sincere condolences to all her family and friends - of whom there are many.

Lisa was the loveliest lady, this was such sad news to receive. It was always a pleasure to have a chat with her over the years at the ICIS office. And even when you hadn’t done something you should have (I’ll raise a hand here) she would raise a sardonic eyebrow but smile too – and then of course I’d get it done asap! Our thoughts will be with you, Lisa, and sending warm wishes to your family.

I can't remember ever seeing Lisa without a smile. Lisa, you were a joy to be around. Your absence must be inexplicably hard to the family you loved so much.

I first met Lisa through ICIS where she went out of her to make me feel incredibly welcome after I joined the company. She went out of her way to pull a few strings, to ensure I move desk to a brighter, livelier corner of the office.

I sat opposite Lisa for the next few years and soon became close friends. We were such different people in such different walks of life, with little in common, however Lisa’s character made it so effortless to enjoy her company. I have no doubt whatsoever, that countless others felt the same.

She always made time for people, no matter what she had on. Sharing a cup of tea together and setting the office world to rights was always the highlight of my day. Work was always fun when Lisa was in.

I’ll also never forget her bakes too, in particular her lemon drizzle which she made for me one birthday.

I often referred to Lisa as my ‘work mum’ and I’ll miss her very much. Rest in peace Lisa.
