In loving memory of Irene May Tilley who sadly passed away on 29th October 2021, aged 89 years.
Irene, or Rene as she preferred, was a devoted mother who always put her children first - even when they were grown up!
After many years of working at Bowaters Paper Mill, followed by several years as a cleaner at Shell Research, she retired at the age of 60 in 1992.
From then on, she devoted herself to being a wife and mother, and eventually a doting grandmother to her 4 grandchildren.
She was a strong, caring and generous person. The most selfless person there ever was.
She never wanted or asked for anything. As long as she had her family around her, she was happy.
She will be sorely missed. Our only comfort is knowing she is reunited with her beloved daughter Barbara.
