Sidney Edward Fountain (1 Mar 1932 - 30 Oct 2021)

In loving memory of Sidney Fountain ( Syd ) who sadly passed away on 30th October 2021 aged 89. Dad passed away after a short illness at Norfolk and Norwich Hospital on the Saturday evening, I'd visited him that afternoon, and thought he was recovering, he seemed in good sprits and had colour which he was missing the week before, The only odd thing that I didn't pick up on till the call later was he told me, I had been a good son and he loved me, Dad wasn't one to show his emotions of feelings very well, when Mum passed it was only the third or forth time I'd ever seen him cry. He missed Mum his Cathy so much and I think he died of a broken heart, they had been a couple since 1950 and he wasn't ready to be without her. He was a fantastic Dad and taught me many things and skills over the years, Playing cards, snooker, pool, Fishing ,I taught him Chess, and we shared lots of hobbies car shows being one of his favorites, and it wont be the same without him.. he finally got me to do some DIY including wall papering, but was always taking the mickey while he was showing me, ( I finally got it, but it took a while) we restored his truck together twice, and he let me choose the last colour. We are heart broken at his leaving, but find some comfort in the fact he was loved and apricated by so many and is now back with his Cathy .
