In loving memory of Arthur Augustus Samuel, who sadly passed away on the 28th of September 2021.

As many of you who are close to the family, know that Arthur, a loving Husband, Father, Granddad and Great Granddad passed away in very tragic circumstances on the morning of the Tuesday 28th September 21.
Our lives will never be the same again for many many reasons.

However, Arthur was a positive soul and those that are left behind who knew him very well can hear him saying, 'you all must just deal with it, things happen, but what a calamity!'.
Arthur came to the UK from the beautiful Islands of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in the 60's by ship with his cousin David Samuel (Nantan). Mother came on a plane as she always reminds us and reminded dad of course. Arthur left his loving Father and Brother's and Sister's to come to the UK for a new life in the 'ole blighty'. Sadly, his mother and our Grandmother had passed away when he was only 16. So he was nurtured by his father and eldest Sister Rachael.

Arthur worked for British Rail in electrical maintenance. He was responsible for fixing all of the junction box failures to get us all to work on time. As an employee of British Rail, there were family perks such as train rides to many seaside destinations and ferry rides to France which the family remember with great happiness.

He was a dab hand at decorating and painting, and was adamant that ‘YOU MUST CUT IN!’

Arthur was a true traditionalist when it came to Christmas. Always encouraging mum to find the biggest Turkey as carving the Turkey for him was his specialty. Arthur loved Christmas which is why Mum is determined that the family celebrate Christmas this year in honour of Arthur. He also loved Fireworks night. He always stoked up a huge bonfire, throwing in jacket potatoes, corn on the cob and breadfruit, and of course, sparklers, with a classic Famous fluffy (Frothy) milk to end the night.

Arthur adored children. He was a hands on father in supporting his wife when she arrived home with their newborn brood each and every time, ensuring he did the first bath for all of his children, the swaddling and held the children in the right way to keep them all safe and later on the same for his Grandchildren.

Sadly Arthur leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Annette, Five Children and Three Grandchildren. He will rest with the angels and will be partying in Heaven no doubt with his friends and family already waiting for him to play dominoes. We can just imagine his familiar laughter ringing out high in the sky and of course endless banter with those that he meets again.

Fly high King Arthur. You will be sorely missed!
