I worked with Kevin right from our first job at IPC Comics, as teenagers, I, Seventeen, he, Eighteen. I can still picture him, introducing himself to me as he heard I'd joined and was the only other teenager there, with his head coming around the corner and just saying: "Marc..?" We went on holidays together with his brother, David and other social events. (Often the Pub!) He was a good, friendly guy and I'm
only sorry I lost touch with him. I'm very saddened about this. May he rest in Peace.

I had the privilege of knowing Kevin when he was an art assistant for IPC Magazines and I was a visiting freelancer from the mid-'80s well into the '90s. I travelled from Scotland down to London once (sometimes twice) a week, and worked at the desk behind Kevin's on the 26th floor. A talented cartoonist in his own right, he deserved to be better known amongst the comics reading community. He always made time for me when I was in London, and we'd lunch together and take trips round the shops sometimes. The last time I spoke with Kev must've been around a quarter of a century ago, but I still think of him fondly as one of life's good guys. Rest in peace Kevin.

  • On reflection, a small correction - though I was an IPC freelancer from the mid-'80s until the late-'90s, I actually only visited London until the end of '87, but I still kept in touch with Kevin by 'phone for a while after my last visit. I note that Kevin passed away two years ago now - how time flies. I still think of him regularly.
