My childhood is full of positive memories of spending time with phil and the gill household. To say he helped shape who am i today would be an understatement. He was a funny, kind hearted, incredibly witty and intelligent man. in my quiet moments with phil he told me a lot about the world and how he saw things - i always drew great comfort from this, and from his smile and cheeky grin that could light up a room. i always saw him as a protector
or a gentle giant looking out for everyone. He would sing elvis costello “oliver’s army” every time he saw me - this will stay with me till the day that i pass.

Phil was a character that was indescribable and incomparable, you just had to know him. Thank you for being you. all my love, oliver.
