Simon could find the funny side in any situation.
Sometimes he would allow you to share his opinion.
He would always close a conversation with his rye smile!
Sad you have left us.
Love to Lynn. Malcolm and Wendy.

Goodbye Simon. You were a good friend and I will greatly miss your company and our philosophical discussions. Whilst you were right on many occasions your views on quality red wine were philistine. Sue & I will be drinking a toast to you with a bottle of Thiebaud Maillet 2005 from Pomerol. This was a particularly good year and the wine has earthy notes with subtle fruit flavours grown in deep blue clay. A vintage that will compliment our memory of good times spent together.

A memory of Simon remains when he came to France with Lynn in the naughties, with the idea of perhaps spending his last working years and then retiring here. We got to appreciate his qualities on that visit, more than we ever had before and regret those plans and our time together on this mortal coil returned to semi-forgetfulness. Here’s to you in the life beyond, where all your dreams will surely come true, dear cousin Simon.

Whenever we met he always said "you haven't changed at all!". I was always able to say the same for him. Good basis for a memory.

I will miss calling Simon and not only gaining from his wisdom but benefitting from his quick wit and dry humour. When I see his name on old reports I can almost hear his patented greeting of "all right chap" or "trouble". You were more than just a mentor I will miss you.
