In loving memory of Pamela Sedgwick who sadly passed away after a brave battle with cancer on 23rd July 2021. This memorial page is to celebrate, honour and remember Pam, a loving mother, partner, cousin and loyal friend. Please feel free to leave a message, share a memory, light a candle or donate to her charity.

Pam was 58 years old and her life ended too soon, leaving behind her daughter, Grace and her partner Geoff. It is incredibly difficult to deal with our emotions when we grieve, because of this some of you may feel anger, regret, disbelief. We are all different, but the reason you feel this way is because of the love that you had for Pam. Grief is the price we pay for love.

Many of you will not have been privy to the last two years of Pam’s life. The adversity she faced was truly harrowing. She chose to deal with her cancer privately and quietly, whilst only being with her family who could support her when she needed them most. Pam received the very best care from the NHS. They tried everything.

Despite everyone’s best efforts, no more could be done and the cancer continued to spread. Pam truly battled, but sadly it was a fight she could not win. Pam accepted her fate with great dignity, fighting to stay around for Grace and Geoff for as long as she could. She passed away peacefully on 23rd July, with Geoff and Grace by her side.

Perhaps the only way we can sum up this last 18 months is by imagining what it must have been like entering Tutankhamun's tomb for the first time - dark, dusty, with no way of knowing which way to go - but gradually your eyes get used to the dark and you touch a dusty object and what lies beneath it shines gold. This was Pam.

Pam was gold through her whole life; a woman of principal, who was intelligent, well read and had the ability to connect with people. She believed in making the most out life and firmly held the view that nothing should ever hold you back. She led a interesting and busy life and has left a wealth of wonderful memories.

Love and friendship was incredibly important to Pam. She was good fun, popular and loyal and she always invested in her friendships; we thank Pam for her love and friendship as we recall and remember the good times. We'd love to hear your stories and for you to share your memories ...

All donations to Pams chosen charity Sarcoma UK will be very gratefully received; we aim to assist in their fight to improve early diagnosis (which is basically one of the only ways of beating it) of this truly underfunded area of cancer research. We'll be organising further charity events going forward - if any off you are interest in assisting in anyway please contact us.
