In loving memory of Eva Warrilow, who sadly passed away on Monday 2nd August 2021. A much loved partner, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

The funeral service for Eva will take place at 3pm on Tuesday 17th August 2021 at Greenacres Chapel, Epping Forest, followed by refreshments at the King’s Head Inn, North Weald.

Eva’s partner and their son will then accompany Eva on her final journey to the City of London crematorium the following morning.

Please use this page to let us know if you are able to attend the funeral.

Rather than purchasing floral tributes, in light of Eva’s love of cats, we would be most grateful if you would make a donation to Cats Protection, the UK’s leading cat welfare charity.

Tracey & Dean Franklin donated £25 in memory of Eva

I’ve only just found out my dear old friend Eva passed, I’m laughing & crying at the same time remembering our Las Vegas trip, Florida & many visits to the Bingo.
I would have said goodby in person but we are both so fond of cats so making a donation to our furry friends obo Eva a legend xx

We had the privilege of working with Eva (and Gordon) in the Met, and the pictures of her in uniform bring back so many memories! Eva was kind, caring and compassionate, someone you could always go to for help, someone who never let you down. She was a tough cookie when she needed to be - and certainly back in those days, all women officers needed a bit of toughness – but her quiet, calm approach was just as effective. We enjoyed working with her, but much more than that, we always counted her as a friend and were glad to stay in touch even at a distance. We will miss her always, but she will not be forgotten, and when we think of her it will always be with a smile.

  • Very proud mummy she loved Gordon Jr to the moon & back. I can still remember her laughing telling me a story where one of his teachers said they thought she was a Muslim because Gordon Jr had said his mum had gone to Mecca (bingo)

  • I’m remembering Eva telling me about her commendation for bravery when she disarmed a known criminal armed with a gun by swinging her police handbag at him. I think a women’s police handbag was a force to be reckoned with.

Sorry to hear the sad news of Eva’s passing.
Growing up I was so proud to have a cousin in the ‘met’ and showed the article, in the Sweeney annual, around the school when Eva was awarded her bravery award.
Rest in peace Eva

So sad to hear the news that our Aunty Eva has passed away. Last time I saw her was at her Brother Peters (my dads) 70th birthday party joint with my leaving doo emigrating to New Zealand. I have so many fond memories of Eva, all Nans Christmas parties playing cards for pennies, trips to Blackpool with about 20 people in my dads car (the good old days), Eva laughing/ swearing her head off all the way around the grand national fairground ride. I still have my Cindy doll that she bought me from Hamleys when me and Matt came down to stay in London with her and Gordon, my own daughters played with her too. She always gave the best Christmas presents ever when we were kids. I have definitely inherited the Warrilow love of cats and have my little Dexter- he’s so cheeky and clever, I know Eva would love him. I am also lucky that everyday I can spy a little hint of Eva in my own daughter Reeni who is so similar looking with her beautiful strawberry blonde hair (ginger really) and high cheekbones just like Evas.

We will miss you Eva, and I hope you will give my big sister Jane a huge hug and a kiss for me and I hope you are making up for lost time with Nan and Grandad, Wendy and Roger. Always fondly in our thoughts.

I am sorry we will not be able to attend the funeral, and my condolences go out to Gordon and her family, who I know she was so proud of.

Lots of love from Rachel, Glen, Larni and Reeni xxx

Such a lovely lady. Always kind and generous and she thought the world of her family. Have fond memories of family parties and when she was in the police and she used to call at our house to have her hair put in a bun she looked so smart. Although she lived in London she always made an effort to attend family occasions in Stoke. We’ll all miss her. Our thoughts are with Gordon and family at this sad timexxx
