In loving memory of our Dear Father Peter Bradley .
Born In London on the 7th February 1935 to Robert and Catherine Bradley, raised as a devout Catholic family in Fulham with his brother Joe and sisters Patricia and Christine.
He and his brother Joe were involved in organising and running various activities and events at the local Church and even entertained with their own skiffle band.
Perhaps without realising it, their focus was on giving fun and happiness to others and both he and his brother soon became characters that everybody knew or wanted to know within their community.

Peter first met his wife to be, Jeanne, in 1955 at the Castle Ballroom Dance Hall and mustered up the courage to ask her for a dance , and continued to court each other from then onwards and their love flourished so became engaged three years later in 1958 and and then married in 1961 at St Michaels Catholic Church in Hounslow .
Foreseeing the next steps of his life he decided to re-train and proved to himself and others to have a strong will and determination, and studied for many years to qualify and become a chartered accountant and initially Peter started working for a firm of accountants in London .

Peter and Jeanne moved to their first home in Morden where they were blessed with their children Sharon in 1963 and Jonathan in 1967 and then they moved to Tadworth which became their family home for the rest of their married life.
Whilst there they became the proud grandparents of three beautiful girls, Hannah in 1995, Phoebe in 2001 and Lilia in 2010. Both Peter and Jeanne showered them with so much love an affection and always dedicated time to be with them wherever they could , creating such happy memories for all to cherish.

During this period Peter decided to set up his own practice which was based in Victoria and throughout his professional career he advised and gained the trust of many clients that became very close personal friends throughout his life.
This again was due to his genuine concern for others and the fact that despite being a professional man he remained to be a fun loving character with a wonderful sense of humour and wit, and he would never take himself too seriously.
In fact as anyone who knew Peter would agree he would always willingly play the fool, dress up or or be the first on the dance floor and by doing so inadvertently spread much joy and happiness to all of those around him.

He was a member of the Catenian Association since 1967 and continued to support them and their commitments to Faith, Family and Friendships, which were attributes to the natural qualities that Peter already had. He and Jeanne enjoyed many of the social events and dinner and dances that were held by them and was President of his circle for a period.

To relax he enjoyed having a pint down the pub and would quickly make new friends, enjoy their company and banter and teach those willing to play crib, which was a game he would often play with his father.
His interests were Chelsea football club, horseracing and trying to beat the odds on the roulette table.
Thankfully all of these were done in moderation and the latter two would always involve some "system" or "method" ,which was another one of his ways of relaxing his mind and they were always under constant development !

In his professional and personal life he was always mindful ,considerate and generous to others and would pray and be willing to offer help ,advice and guidance for any of those that sought it .
His strength of character and kindness to others was undoubtedly qualities that have developed within him through his Faith and Belief and he had a confidence and reassurance that he would always be guided and "looked after" if he prayed and asked the Lord God to do so .
His Faith was constant and because of this in his final days he was not afraid to die and was ready for the Lord to take him into the Kingdom of Heaven ,and hopefully be reunited with the loved ones that have gone before.
Even at this time his thoughts and concerns were for others and his prayers continued to be focussed on others and their wellbeing and his only request were for others to say prayers for him and his safe passage !

Peter Bradley ,our Father sadly passed away at 10.30am on Saturday the 10th July 2021 in The Ardingly ward at Princess Alexandra Hospital Haywards Heath .
Peacefully , without pain ,and with the love of God within him and the love and prayers of all others around him and of those that knew him !
God Bless You Peter !

Thank You for being a Fun Dad, a Loving and Caring Father and a Pillar of Wisdom, Advice and Guidance.!
You will always be with us in our hearts and thoughts and we will Always Love You !
Your Daughter and Son

I’ve known Peter for over half a century - hard to believe!
We met in our twenties when we were just starting out on our life’s path and WOW, what a journey it has been!

I have such fond memories of the great times we all had over those years. Peter was so much
Fun to be around, his happy disposition and great sense of humour always made the
Evening a success.
Acting as my accountant , he would always listen to my business ideas (some good, some verging on the bizarre!) and had always given me some sound advice.

When Peter retired from London, Marie-Claire and I found ourselves having to travel to
Sussex, we would always take a pitstop visit, later visiting him in seaford for memorable lunches and reminiscing on old times.

An excerpt from a poem comes to mind.

These are the units to measure the worth
Of this man as a man regardless of birth.
Not what was his station?
But had he a heart?
How did he play his God given part?

Yes, he had certainly played his part, testament to how well his two beautiful children had turned out.

You may be gone Peter, but you will never be forgotten
