Mum, Nan, Grape, Fanny, a wonderful woman known by so many different names sadly passed away on 24th June, peacefully and with grace. She leaves behind a devoted, if not slight dysfunctional family who she adored and who adored her equally. She would always tell you the truth, whether it was what you wanted to hear or not, she stood shoulder to shoulder with us all during our hard times, but would never admit to her own, she could not bear the thought of anyone worrying about her, and independent and stubborn one!.

Since her passing we have discovered she was an avid collector of drills, hacksaws and other tools, we are not quite sure what they were for! but there were hundreds. Enough wool to knit blankets for a sub continent, and more knives and forks than can be found on a cruise ship! And lets not forget the new Eco-systems growing in the out of date food found in the back of the cupboards, some of which I believe we could have applied for heritage status on...... yep that old.

A straight talking woman whose favourite movie quote was " and he has a big knob!", she would at time shouted it out in her sleep, god only knows was she was dreaming about. Love Actually was her favourite film, as "love is all around us", and will always be, we will forever feel that warmth, and the occasional clip around the ear if we are misbehaving!

She will be so sorely missed and leaves behind many broken hearts that will heal in time, as she is in the hearts of all and she will heal us from the inside.

Beloved Mother to Dee, Julia, Andrew, Joanne and Rudi. Sister to Peter. Nan to Darren, Kayleigh, Milly, CJ, Emily, Tamzin and Jade. Grape to Leah, Ella, Oliver, Freya, Sapphire, Thomas, Gethin, Cian and Madi.

She will be dearly missed and forever in the hearts of us all.

A service will be held on 16th July at Portchester Crematorium, due to Covid-19 the numbers are limit to 20, so it is an invitation only do, dress code is happy ( what ever makes you happy, but please wear something, she was not into nudism!), no black please. Flowers and Tributes to Lee Fletcher Funeral Services, 95 High St, Cosham, Portsmouth PO6 3AZ.

Donations are also welcome, we have not decided on where any donations would go, so please feel free to nominate to your own charity, these can also be sent direct to Lee Fletcher or to the address in Cromer Road

Oh nan where to start. Growing up in pompey and surrounding areas as a young un you were always a prominent figure. Actually the matriarch, head of the family (not in a mob boss kind of way). Everything pretty much involved you. We didnt have much but you always made a way of making everyday fun. Be ut me and kayleigh doing stars in there eyes in the front room or you even turning the house in to a haunted halloween house. There was always fun involved. Im so heart broken and in floods of tears as i write this. You really are the best nan a grandson could ever need. Do you remember tea and toast. Let me refresh your memory.
Nan walks in, sits down.
Darren says
Whats the wooden thing golfers use?
Nan replies
A tee
Darren says
Great strong with two please
Nan
Oh your a bugger!!
Nan returns with tea and procceds to park her bum.
Darren
Nan whats that chinking thing you do?
Nan
A toast
Darren
Great two with marmite please
Nan gives death stare and procceds to make toast.
Nan i love you more than words could describe. Rest easy give grandad a massive hug from me and tell him how winderful leah and ella are. They are going to miss you massivly. Sorry its so longwinded. All our love. Darren, laura, leah, ella and buck xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

My Nan, thats what you were first, then as I grew older you become my friend! I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have had the opportunity to know you as a child but also as an adult, somehow it means more and makes losing you feel so much harder!

Me, Julie and Ems went to the viewpoint where you used to meet us with Grandad the other day for a sentimental look over the city lights, and well it was a disaster and it would have cracked you up! It was super foggy, you couldn’t see anything, and I think it may now be no1 dogging spot in Pompey! 😂

The memories I have of you I will treasure forever and I hope you were as proud to have me as a Granddaughter as I was to have you as my Nan!

I hope you are at peace with Grandad now and that you can both look over the amazing family you created with pride.

I will love you always and miss you forever!

Kayleigh ♥️♥️

This is a poem by David Harkins, it's called 'She has gone'

You can shed tears that she is gone.
Or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back.
Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left.
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her.
Or you can be full of the love that you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday.
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her and only that she is gone.
Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back.
Or you can do what she would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Where to even start. Who am I going to tell about my strange strange job now! I love how much you embraced it and how much it entertained you. Even last week you messaged me to tell me how proud you were of me, and I loved that. You always took an interest in every aspect of my life and that meant so much to me. I’ll miss you more than you’ll ever know, your famous Apple crumbles, your toasties, how much you teased poor little Rudi. More than anything I’ll miss your infectious personality, how amazing of a nan you were and how much you brightened every room. Love you lots. Rest peacefully xxx

Going to miss our chats, even when we had the same one ten times, and you never remembered. The smell of burnt rice, cos you had fallen asleep and forgot about it, the continually shouting at the dog, even when he was not in the room. He is really missing you, but is spending his nights snuggled up in your fleece. How you would randomly make me cake, I love cake, and the endless quips about your up and coming movie debut! There is so much I could write and say, but it is to early for me, so, I hope wherever you are now, you are smiling, happy and giving them hell. Love you xxx
