Jenny Cooper was born in Brockham on 6th April 1942. She was the middle child of three with an older sister Joy and younger brother Dennis. She had a happy childhood and showed an early talent in playing the piano. She often played at school and went on to play the organ at Christ The King Salfords. Jenny was an active member of the congregation here for many years also teaching in the Sunday School and producing the weekly newsletter.

The love of her life was her husband Barry, they married in June 1966 and lived a happy life in Salfords. They were unable to have children but enjoyed sharing their nephews and neices. They had so much love to share with them and were an important part of their lives. They had many pets, dogs, guniea pigs, rabbits even chickens, their house became known to some as Coopers Farm. Jenny cared for Barry when he became ill with cancer, keeping him at home until the very end. She hated living on her own but friends and family and the church fellowship helped.

Jenny became ill herself in April and was admitted to East Surrey Hospital on 28th April. It was sadly found that she had oesophageal cancer and nothing could be done except pallative care. After 5 long weeks she was able to go and stay at her neices house in Worthing. Unfortnately she was only there a week before she had to go into St Barnabas where she sadly passed away on 9th June 2021.
Jennys funeral is on 9th July at 2:15pm at Christ the King Church, Salfords, Surrey. Then afterwards at Surrey and Sussex Crematorium. The Crematorium service is for close family only.
